The urge to try his luck was so strong that seven-year-old Marcos hadn’t considered what he’d do if his stolen bingo card won. As it turned out, there was no cash prize for him and his accomplice, his brother, Davy. Instead, they were caught, forced to confess, and left at home by their parents on bingo nights from then on.
The boys’ seventeen-year-old sister, Maria, was supposed to babysit them, but she usually defers that responsibility to the television while she goes out with her friends. So when Marcos and Davy receive a series of menacing phone calls, they have no one to turn to. The vulnerability of two children left alone, and their inability to deal with the bizarre designs of strangers, will leave them open to an unexpected, predatory darkness.
